Written in plain English on purpose. If a lawyer would want more formal language for a specific dispute, that language does not exist yet — write to us and we will sort it out directly.

What you are buying

A written, personalized cat behavior plan: management rules, a week-by-week progression with criteria to advance, an equipment list, and — on the higher tier — one written revision round. That is the product.

What you are not buying: veterinary care, a medical diagnosis, medication advice, or a guarantee about how your cat will behave afterward. Behavior plans influence outcomes; they do not determine them, and nobody selling one honestly can promise otherwise.

This is not veterinary advice

A veterinarian's assessment comes first, always. Litter-box soiling can be a medical symptom before it is a behavior problem, and a cat can look outwardly healthy while something serious is happening. We ask about medical clearance before selling a plan, and we refuse cases where it looks like that step has not happened. Nothing in aThresholdCat plan diagnoses a medical condition, recommends a medication, or should delay you seeing a veterinarian for sudden onset, straining, blood, frequent small urinations, or crying in the litter box. A male cat straining to urinate is an emergency — go to a veterinarian, not to this website.

What is refused, and refunded

Some cases do not get sold a plan at all. This is decided either by the free read before you pay, or by human review after you pay if the paid intake surfaces something the free read missed. If it happens after payment, you are refunded in full — not store credit, not a partial refund.

Cases we refuse and refund:

  • Soiling that could have a medical cause not yet cleared by a veterinarian.
  • Any question about medication — starting, stopping, or changing a dose.
  • A bite or scratch between a cat and a person that broke skin.
  • A case already under the active care of a veterinary behaviorist or consultant.

In every refusal case we say what kind of professional to see instead — a veterinarian, a veterinary behaviorist, or a certified consultant. This is not fine print; it is stated to you directly, before or immediately after checkout.

The 14-day refund

Separately from refusal, you have 14days after your plan is delivered to decide it was not worth what you paid, and ask for your money back. This refund is triggered by your satisfaction with the plan itself — the writing, the fit, whether it addresses your cat and your household. It is not conditioned on whether your cat's behavior has actually changed by then; nobody honest can promise that on any fixed timeline, and we will not pretend to. To claim it, email hello@thresholdcat.com within 14 days of delivery.

Revisions

The higher-priced tier includes one written revision round: tell us what happened after you started running the plan, and it gets adjusted in writing. The lower-priced tier does not include this round as a purchased feature; we still read anything you send, but the guaranteed written revision is what the higher tier pays for.

Limitation of liability

We are selling our best written judgment, assembled from sourced material and checked by a person, about what to try and in what order. We are not liable for how your cat behaves after you receive a plan, for a veterinary condition the plan did not catch, or for any harm to your cat, another animal, or a person that follows from how the plan is used. If you are in any doubt about your cat's safety or a person's safety, stop and see a veterinarian or a qualified professional in person — this product is written guidance, not supervision.

Our liability to you, in any case, is capped at the amount you paid for the plan.
